If the bullies had got into my head via the internet as well as at school... it doesn't bear thinking about.

The great thing about other people's kids is that you can hand them back when they need changing! It was bad enough to have certain "friends" calling my house phone occasionally. We didn't have it easy growing up, but I think it was a blessing that social networking didn't really exist. (I think Bebo came into being when I was in sixth form, but didn't really take off.)Katie Edwardshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12844778170761632779noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2322599747616522091.post-49443742441893393652013-08-21T10:57:05.383+01:002013-08-21T10:57:05.383+01:00I HEAR YA. Facebook wasn't even a thing until my first year of university, and then it was much smaller and more user-driven and intimate than it is now. I'm not sure I'd have coped with social media before that - life was hard enough dealing with 'the bad guys' at school without opening myself up to that kind of potential for exploitation or attack at home too.

The other reason is that me and weird coloured smelly explosive bodily fluids don't get on. But that other reason sounds more intelligent. :D

Happy reading today! But the best thing about that was there wasn't any of the people I was trying to escape on there. I'm not sure I would have ever survived being a teenager with something like Facebook around. At least going home and the internet was a sanctuary.Elliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14377404526123600035noreply@blogger.com
